Autumn 1
Homework
- English 10 minute weekly workout
- Maths 10 minute weekly workout
- Daily timestables practice using TTRockstars. Weekly test on a Thursday in preparation for the National Year 4 Mutliplication Check. Children should be able to recall timestables up to and including 12x12 within 5 seconds.
- Spelling Shed (Weekly spellings and test given on a Wednesday)
- Daily Reading (Diary signed at least 4 times per week)

Stationery is provided by school but children are welcome to bring their own pencil cases. We may have 'pencil case lessons' and 'non-pencil case lessons' where appropriate.
Maths - Place value; Addition and subtraction
Writing - Inspired by the book, 'The Whale', children will write a setting narrative with a grammar focus on sentence demarcation, fronted advebrials, and conjunctions.
Reading - Learning to makde predictiosn and infer; retreive information from a text; and summarise what has been read.
Science - Classifying Animals
RE: How do beliefs shape people’s lives? How do they differ?
Geography - Rainforests
Computing - Computing systems and networks
Art- Fabric of Nature- children will design a printing press inspired by the rainforest
Wellbeing - Resilience
Music - Samba drumming with a focus on rhythm, ensemble performance, instrumentation, and techinque.
