School opens for the start of Spring Term 1
Bollington Cross Church of England Primary School sits within the Diocese of Chester. We share a close relationship with St. Oswald's Church which serves as the parish church for Bollington. The Church is very enthusiastic about children's ministry within our community, and enjoys working with the school in order to nurture faith, spiritual development, and to promote flourishing for all.
As you may have seen on or worship page our church is very much part of the life and spirit of our school. Children frequently visit church for everything some termly welcome and seasonal prayer experiences to big celebrations such as Experience Easter, Harvest, and Christmas. Other special traditions include prayer trails and church-led celebrations such as Christingle and Candlemas. Our P.T.A. also share a wonderful relationship with St. Oswald's so you will often find other community-based initiatives taking place such as clothes swaps and fairs!
Additionally, the children enjoy frequent visits from Rev. Nancy and Rev. Jenny who come into school for collective worship as well as leading class-focused initiatives and offering opportunities for conversations about big questions.
St. Oswald's hosts a wide variety of services and opportunities for families and people across our community, including:
Messy Church - An interactive and hands-on approach to exploring Christianity. (Runs seasonally)
All Age Worship - Experiential prayer activities for all the family. Services include bringing pets to church and a visit from a donkey! 10:30am (45 mins) on the first Sunday of each month.
