At Bollington Cross, the school day for pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 runs from 8:45am to 3:15pm, and for pupils in Key Stage 2 from 8:50am to 3:20pm.
This provides all pupils with a 32.5-hour school week, calculated from the start of the school day to the end of the school day and including break and lunchtime periods. This meets the Department for Education's minimum expectation that all mainstream state-funded schools in England provide a school week of at least 32.5 hours.
Our school day is structured to make the best use of learning time while supporting pupils' academic achievement, personal development and wellbeing. The organisation of the school day enables us to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum, alongside enrichment opportunities and pastoral support for all pupils.
